Excellent 2nd place result at Fife Charities Contest

October 2011

Bon-Accord Silver Band recorded an excellent 2nd place result on 8th October 2011 at the Fife Open Brass Band Contest.

Under the direction of conductor Stephen Malcolm and playing Knight Templar (march), Wolvercote (hymn) and Montage by Peter Graham (test piece) we showed style and steely determination to prove we belong in the top-flight of Scottish brass bands.

European Brass Band Championships

May 2010

Bon-Accord Silver Band represented Scotland at the European Brass Band Championships at the Brucknerhaus in Linz, Austria. The set test-piece for the contest was “Spiriti” by Thomas Doss and we chose “St Magnus” by Kenneth Downie as our own choice.

We represented our country with great pride and honour and in the own choice contest we managed to beat the French and Danish champions, Brass Band Nord Pas-de-Calais and Concord Brass Band respectively, a great accomplishment for the band

For many of the players in the band, this was the pinnacle of their playing career and a great achievement to be able to play in such an important contest.
